"- Very nice location close to local points of interest (Utah and Omaha Beach, Bayeux, St. Vaast-la-Hougue and Ile Tatihou, Barfleur, Nez de Joburg, Phare de Gatteville, Sainte-Mere-Eglise are all within a short car ride) - Nice owner (had a good chat with her) - Comfortable, clean and liveable accomodation - Authentic, almost 100-year-old building, duly upgraded - We appreciated the calmness of the area - countryside, far from city nightlife but a nice starting point for local trips"

"- Underlining that it is a good place and an excellent starting point for local trips, it has its minor imperfections (a bit stronger lightning would have been appreciated in the living room and kitchen, a bit more kitchenware would have been good, etc.) - The rental of the house is managed not by its owner (handling only the keys/arrivals) but a company called Belvilla, which has proven to be its biggest disadvantage. After having booked our stay through Booking.com, a message has been received (in Dutch, which we do not speak) drawing our attention to that payment should be done towards Belvilla and the booking needs to be managed through their system - in which, as we later discovered, we were unable to manage the reservation as it was done via booking.com, therefore we had to contact the overwhelmed and not easily reachable customer service (no direct e-mail or phone, just the chat on their webpage, offering by default a chatbot). The reason to adjust our booking was that a number of conditions were not indicated on the Booking.com page of the house and our reservation was also not correctly registered: * we booked for 2 adults and 2 children on Booking.com, while Belvilla registered 4 adults; * on the Booking.com page of the house it indicated that the house has no baby cot, so we brought our foldable baby bed (those familiar with such things might know how much space it occupies in a car trunk) - only to find a very similar one in one of the rooms... * the house is in fact a nice French "gîte", and as in most of such accomodations, bedclothes are provided for request only and upon additional fee. This was not indicated on the house's page on booking.com and thus we were not aware of it before the reservation. Once reserved/paid, we had difficult times to add it to the reservation due to the issues with the Belvilla system indicated above."
